Registered as a 'Grade A' contractor with the Ministry of Works in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Zohal Construction first opened its doors for business in 1980 and for the past 34 years has been successfully carrying out a broad portfolio of infrastructure works for discerning clients across a number of sectors. It is especially sought out by organisations that are looking for an integrated partner that enjoys being engaged in a collaborative process.
An EPC contractor, offering total solutions in wastewater treatment – from planning, engineering design, construction and system supply through to installation of equipment, start-up and the commissioning, operation and maintenance of the plant - Zohal Construction provides a wide range of services, including electromechanical, and has expertise across the entire field of water and wastewater. This takes in the construction of sewerage and storm water drainage networks, pumping stations, water transmission and distribution systems, including instrumentation and SCADA.
Zohal Construction has completed many important projects to the complete satisfaction of its clients, including the Ma'Amir Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for the Ministry of Works (Membrane Bio-Reactor (MBR)), a BHD 6.3 million project handed over in 2012; North Sitra STP for the Ministry of Works (Activated Sludge Process), a BHD 7.7 million project completed in 2010, with the operation and maintenance ongoing; Durat Al Bahrain STP for Durat Al Bahrain (MBR), completed in 2014, with operation and maintenance ongoing; Amwaj Island STP for Ossis Properties (Extended Aeration Process), a BHD 3 million project completed in 2008, with operation and maintenance ongoing; and Ma'Amir Sewage and Storm Water Network (approximately 23 km) and Pumping Stations (excluding design), a BHD 7.89 million project completed for the Ministry of Works in 2012.
Communication is the Key
In addition to the above in the last 15 years, the company has also installed more than 10 packaged treatment plants capable of handling sewage flows from 50m3/day to 2000 m3/day. All of these plants are in operation and producing high quality effluent with low maintenance. In addition, Zohal Construction has successfully completed various projects for other ministries, including Civil Aviation and Municipalities. It has been serving all of the major industries in the Kingdom of Bahrain too, such as ALBA, BAPCO, BANACO, BANAGAS, GARMCO, BALEXCO and BATELCO.
Whatever the project, though, communication is the key on every Zohal Construction project. During construction, the company does everything from controlling costs to executing an effective safety plan, and will provide timely and accurate project status reports. Zohal Construction's responsibility for excellent client service continues through the post-construction period, ensuring that clients always know who to go to for assistance with any issue.

The company has extensive resources and can call upon other members of the group such as Al Madar General Trading Est., which represents major international manufacturers in treatment plants, pipes, valves, pumps and instruments, which helps Zohal Construction to provide turnkey solutions in the sewage treatment/recycle/reuse throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.
